What we do

Pre-Meet & Plan - Film - Creative Edit - Share & Enjoy

Once you have decided to go ahead with creating a legacy film, we will get together and discuss what sort of topics you'd like to cover, we really encourage you to include family members at this meeting.

We will go through your photo albums for ideas and photos to include in your legacy film.  Then you will be given a list of sample questions to keep that will help give you some ideas of things to talk about.

I have developed a series of questions that guide you from discussing your roots and ancestors through different stages of your life—from childhood memories to adolescence, adulthood, marriage, parenting, career, and into retirement. During our filming I encourage you to delve a little deeper by asking questions like:

-  When did you feel most alive?

-  Are there decisions you'd look back on and change if you could?

-  What are you grappling with these days?

-  Tell me what parenting and grandparenting are like for you?

-  What are your thoughts on growing older or the concept of mortality?

Day of Filming:

- Setup of cameras, lights and lapel microphones at your chosen location.

- Recording of still photos and other memorabilia for integrating with your legacy film, examples could be birth or marriage certificates, copies of family trees, genealogy records.

- Recording of favourite hobbies (if premium package is selected).

- The camera rolls in the background while we informally chat about your chosen topics.

Post Filming:

The footage will be edited to remove the interviewers voice and any 'bloopers' that may have occurred. Photos, memorabilia and music where appropriate are interlaced. This process can take up to two weeks.

You will receive two films delivered digitally or uploaded to a private website, depending on the package you choose. The fully edited film plus a shorter highlights version.
